This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, George Sterling Fowlkes who was born in Greenbay, Virginia on September 29, 1943 and passed away on July 25, 2007 in Taylorsville, Georgia at the age of 63. We will remember him forever.
George was a Master Sergent in The United States Air Force were he served for 27 plus years
George and his wife (Jean) owned a small farm. He had a love for animals which was reflected in the care of the farm animals he owned. They were all raised for pleasure.
George was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He left behind his wife (Jean) and 6 children (George Jr., Kim, Chuck, Kelly, Misty, Donnie), 8 grandchildren (Jason,Kyle,Kory,Amanda,Abby,Ashaleigh,Joshua,Jennifer) and 1 Greatgrandchild (Canaan). George also left behind two brothers (Reginald Lenoid Fowlkes his wife Barbara Jean,John Henry Fowlkes and his wife Margie along with a sister-in-law Ruth Fowlkes).Also left was Linda DeFord(sister-in-law),Sharon and Denny Hudson(sister and brother-in-law.)
George was preceeded in death by his mother, Bessie Spencer Fowlkes in 1985 and his father Wharey L. Fowlkes in 1991 and a brother Robert Lewis Fowlkes.
George was a member Of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. He loved his church family. He was very thankful for his salvation and showed it in his daily life. He knew that God had a plan and he followed it to the end.
